I absolutely hate losing information on computers. 

It happens to everybody. Eventually, something will happen and you could lose your pictures, music, documents or everything. It could be a hardware failure or it could be a virus. It could be a mistake that you make by deleting something accidentally. 

Here is what to do:

Backup. Backup. Backup.

Local backups are reliable, but can be hard to remember to do or could be lost in a disaster. Data loss is not acceptable.

We recommend to backup your things to more than one location. A good location is "the cloud", which is simply another location on the Internet. It is usually a bank of "server" computers that have lots of speed and storage space.

We recommend Carbonite for a program to help backup your information. The program is really easy to use and automatically copies your information to their server on the cloud. It can also backup to a local storage location. You can access the information from any device, anywhere you are. The service starts at $6/month for a computer.
